Thanks to everyone who came to Wood Street Jazz Festival in July and helped us raise a whopping £12,500 for Challengers also, there are some photos of the event here. SUMMER OF JAZZ 2021
Welcome to our “Summer of Jazz” Programme, featuring many of the artists who were due to play at our inaugural Festival last year, as well as a host of other artists and events.
We’re proud to be part of our local community and our programme includes a number of charity fund raising events, each in a unique location and all, of course, featuring some fantastic live jazz! The local charities we are supporting are: Challengers, GUTS, The Cheryl King Trust and Guildford Philanthropy.
All our events are designed to comply with the range of potential social distancing requirements that we may face.

MEMBERS WINETASTING & JAZZ AUGUST 29TH
An exclusive wine-tasting and live jazz event for our Members at Greyfriars Vineyard. With welcome drinks overlooking the vineyard followed by a mini tour, wine tasting in the brand-new tasting room, with live jazz accompanying each tasting and as you enjoy the bar afterwards.

LATIN JAZZ AT THE CASTLE SEPTEMBER 11TH
Latin Jazz live in the grounds of Guildford Castle!
A Latin band that takes flavours from Buena Vista Social Club, Sergio Mendes, Stan Getz/Astrid Gilberto, Spyrogyra and the Gypsy Kings with their unique compositions in mambo, salsa, samba and bossa nova styles.

Cricket Club Pavilion Sept 22nd
After the summer break , we’re back for our regular jazz nights at Guildford County Cricket Club Pavilion on Sept 22nd with sax legend Art Themen and his “Thane & The Villeins” show, with George Double on drums, Pete Whittaker on organ and Marianne guesting on bass.

LIVESTREAM RECORDINGS FROM THE BOILEROOM
Our current series of live online gigs finished with a bang on June 16th, with the fantastic quintet of Dave and Judith O’Higgins.

We were proud to present these livestream events in collaboration with Berkhamsted Jazz, Chichester Jazz Club, Jazz in Reading, Scarborough Jazz, Colchester Arts Centre Jazz Club, Cheltenham Jazz, and Fleet Jazz.
