Jan 12th LATIN JAZZ SALSA WITH HEADS SOUTH

Heads South plays superb Latin Jazz combining Cuban and other Latin rhythms with distinctive melodies in an exhilarating repertoire of original and classic tunes. The Band is led by John Harriman on piano/organ and features top UK trumpeter Steve Waterman, Venezuelan bassist Adolfredo Pulido, Cuban percussionist Chino Martell Morgan on congas, bongos, cajon, guiro and Buster Birch on drums, timbale, castanets, frame drum.

Jan 27th Simon Spillett and Pete Long: Salute to the Jazz Couriers

An exciting and heartfelt homage by two of the top UK jazz authorities to the legendary British two-tenor quintet of the 1950s co-led by Ronnie Scott and Tubby Hayes.

Featuring original exciting arrangements faithfully recreated by Echoes of Ellington bandleader and saxophonist Pete Long along with celebrated saxophonist and author of the universally acclaimed Tubby Hayes biography Long Shadow of the Little Giant Simon Spillett.

In the time-honoured way you can expect plenty of up tempo tenor jousting, bell notes bouncing from wall to wall and cascades of bebop quavers coruscating the continuum!

Feb 9th BRANDON ALLEN: THE STANLEY TURRENTINE PROJECT

A salute to the earthy, irresistibly groovy music of Blue Note and CTI Records jazz legend Stanley Turrentine from arguably the most exciting tenor player in Britain today.

Featuring Brandon Allen – tenor saxophone , Will Barry – piano/keys, Conor Chaplin – basses, Dave Ingamels- drums.
