Festival Food and Drink

During the Jazz Fest weekend, a variety of food and drink options will be available at the Theatre from our Festival Catering Partner, Debbie Johnson. Just select your options below and pre-book where indicated when you buy your event tickets.


Gin the Jazz Bar

Friday night 9.30pm – 11pm

Relax in the bar with a drink and some live jazz piano as the opening evening of the Festival draws to a close.

Free entry. No pre-booking necessary

New Orleans Jazz Brunch

Saturday morning 11.30am – 12.30pm

Start your jazz day , not with an egg but a whole scrumptious, Deep South, American style brunch, with live New Orleans Dixie Jazz from clarinet maestro Duncan Batchelor and his quartet.

Choose from the Meat or Vegetarian Full Brunch menu for £8 and add on extras on the day

  • Standard Full Brunch : Hickory Smoked bacon, Eggs as you like ’em, Sausages, Sour dough toast plus tea/coffee/fruit juice
  • Vegetarian Full Brunch : Smashed Avocado, Scrambled egg, Smoked Salmon, Sour dough toast plus tea/coffee/fruit juice
  • Extras (£3): Pancakes with maple syrup and raspberries, Smoked salmon and cream cheese bagels or Cinammon Toast

Clarinet maestro Duncan Batchelor is renowned as a player with a highly developed sense of swing and a fabulous tone. His reputation as a great player was honed whilst he worked with the pioneers of British Hot Club Swing jazz and he combines a professional commercial career with performing at jazz venues and festivals throughout Europe and beyond.

Cream Tea

Saturday afternoon 3pm – 5.30pm

The quintessential English afternoon tea! Fruit and scones served with butter jam and clotted cream, teas and coffee.

Afternoon tea £5. Pre-bookings recommended.

Available as an option with the following performances: Dennis Rollins Velocity Trio, The Age of Jazz, Come and Sing, or Pete Churchill & The Jazz Choir.

Coffee and Pastries

Sunday morning 11am – 12pm

Time to catch up with friends with a coffee and your favourite Danish pastry before the first session of the day featuring the award winning duo of Alan Barnes and Dave Newton!

No pre-booking necessary.

Creole Jazz Lunch

Sunday afternoon 1.15pm – 1.45pm

Enjoy the authentic taste of Creole with a Chicken and Chorizo Jambalaya or Louisiana Vegetarian Jambalaya, with Rice and Side salad – overflowing with the tastes of Louisiana, it’s hearty and incredibly flavourful, just like our All-Star Sextet!

Jazz lunch £8, prebooking essential.

Available as an option with Alan Barnes/Dave Newton Duo and The Magic of Mancini with the Nightingale/Barnes/Waterman All Stars. For ticket holders for The Magic of Mancini concert, lunch will be served before the afternoon performance starts for you to enjoy in the auditorium, where seating will be set up at tables, cabaret style.

Afternoon Tea

Sunday afternoon 3.15 – 5.15pm

The perfect way to catch up with friends between sets, or to enjoy a quiet moment on your own between sets! Afternoon tea and cake, with including King cake/Louisiana syrup cake/Cinnamon loaf/ Coffee cake.

Tea £1, cake £2. No pre-booking required.

Scrumptious Sandwiches

Saturday 12.30-8pm, Sunday 3pm-5.30pm

Sandwiches will also be available for purchase during the weekend, with a choice of Sour dough bread/Bagels/Granary White and Brown Bread and fillings including Muffuletta smoked cheese with salami and olive pickle/ Smoked salmon and cream cheese/ Salami and pickle/ Smoked cheese and pickle/ Smashed Avocado chicken and bacon or regular cheese/ham/chicken salad sandwiches, all served with a simple side salad garnish plus a selection of pickles and Mayonnaise.
